Microneedling 101
What is microneedling?
Microneedling is one of the most effective ways to refresh your skin naturally by stimulating collagen and elastin—the building blocks of smooth, youthful, glowing skin. Whether you’re targeting fine lines, scars, or just want to fight back against aging, microneedling delivers real results over time. It’s not a quick fix as collagen takes months to build, but it will bring lasting results as you appreciate the idea of slow beauty.
What are the benefits?
Promotes even skin tone
Improves skin texture
Reduces the appearance of acne scarring
Reduces the appearance of fine lines
Reduces the appearance of hyperpigmentation
What should I expect to do on the day of the procedure?
Hands off! Only apply the approved product with freshly washed hands.
Skip the heat. No showering, workouts, sauna, alcohol, or standing over the stove/oven.
Protect your skin. Avoid touching your face with unclean hands or objects (including phones, glasses, and hair).
Stay fresh. Change your pillowcase, wash your makeup brushes, towels, and avoid kisses from pets or loved ones.
Rest & nourish. Stay inside, hydrate well, get plenty of sleep, and fuel your body with vitamins and good nutrition.
What will my skin look & feel like?
Immediately after: Red, slightly swollen, tight, dry; feels like a sunburn.
Days 1–3: Redness and swelling decrease, but skin will remain tight, dry, and sensitive.
Days 4–7: Skin should normalize, though some flaking or peeling may occur—do not pick, scratch, or exfoliate.
What should I avoid?
Sun exposure for 72 hours. Wear SPF 30+ or a hat for 10 days.
Wearing foundation or makeup for 48 hours.
Exercise, sauna, or heat-inducing activities for 72 hours.
Swimming or submerging in chlorinated water for 7 days.
Anything but gentle skincare products. No exfoliants, scrubs, AHAs, BHAs, retinol, waxing, or facial brushes for 7 days.
Who is not a good candidate?
While microneedling is generally safe, it is not recommended for:
Those with active acne or cold sores
Those on blood thinners or with blood disorders
Pregnant or breastfeeding mamas
Those with many allergies or highly sensitive skin
Anyone prone to keloid scarring
Anyone with an impaired barrier-we'll get your skin healthy first!
Be Patient, Results Take Time!
Collagen takes at least 2 months to fully grow, so visible results build gradually. A series of 3–4 treatments spaced 4–8 weeks apart delivers the most dramatic, lasting improvements.
Microneedling is safe for most skin types, has minimal downtime, and provides noticeable, natural-looking results. It's the perfect treatment to refresh your glow.
